      Hi David
As a point of interest you might like to know that Sarah who was William’s mother. Her maiden name was Lavender. Her parents where John and Mercy Lavender. John and Mercy where the licensees of the Bo Peep showing in your information in 1794. I am very much involved in my family history and my connection with Hastings!

As previously mentioned on the 31st January.

        Hi Janice

Brett says William and Sarah Nabbs had sixteen children ! Is this correct ?

Also that they moved to the Swan Shades after the Pilot ? I dont see how they got 18 people in there ??

          Hi David
Yes they did have 16 children, my grandfather was the oldest of their boys his name was William and he came to London in 1851 ish. He also was a sailmaker!

And yes William and Sarah also moved from the Pilot to the Swan Shades. Sarah was also a part of the Gallop family!

I hope you have found the information of interest.

          Regards
          Janice

    Hi
Many thanks for your response. I do know about the Bretts new paper articles and their are references to the young William Nabbs however more so about his Father (also called William) his wife was called Sarah Lavender and I am sure she was associated with the Bo Peep??

His father was also a sail maker and a Privateer!

If you can point me the direction to whom or how to ackowledge your site I am more than happy to do so.

    With regards
    Janice
